I don't get the appeal for Counter-Strike.
I have a few dozen or so hours across pretty much all of the mainline titles, and I've yet to start having genuine fun with the series. I like Deathmatch, Arms Race, and Retakes (the modes where you actually shoot people), but not vanilla or competitive.
I keep telling myself that I'm just bad. That's why I'm not having fun. I'll get good eventually, and then I'll start really enjoying the game!
But after playing it day in, day out, and accumulating a fair sum of hours across all of the games, like I said, that has yet to take place.
I think it's due to the fact the genre is well over 20 years old at this point, and the matchmaking simply doesn't work. I'm getting consistently matched against people that are way better than me or are even cheaters, ergo, can't have fun.
Or the game simply isn't fun at its core. I don't know.

Dota and CS are the two games beloved by brain damaged esl zoomers. I guess their brains just crave the repetitiveness that lets you turn your brain off and play on the exact same maps over and over again.

>enemy taps me once, dead
