Youre wrong about KCD 1 respecting Christianity as it very much did not, i dont know if you have seen the pattern or not but both games have this idea of what a "Good Christian" is, this is a phrase often repeated at many points during both games when the characters are doing something evil or hypocritical or heretical and the game plays it off as a joke because ohh theyre Christians
and if youve seen the woman's lot DLC and some of the other stuff in the game you could gather that they didnt have alot of respect and it seems they did it just out of necessity for actually wanting to make a realistic game, a great example of this is the character of father godwin who is a whoremongering drunk heretic in the game yet stands to be the voice of good and gives divine advice, it starts to become apparent, but with KCD2 it goes to a whole another level with its general depiction of the common christian folk across bohemia as treacherous, cowardly, murderous and hopeless, which can already be picked up in KCD to a certain degree… with the first game it seems like some of those aspects they did as if they were doing it as punishment for something but with KCD 2 it just gets ballooned and those are the elements that are focused on rather than making the game realistic or consistent, it was an inherent mockery from the start, although to be fair when playing the second game i sometimes got the feeling as if literally some of those new questionable "elements" were written it at some point in the late development, as it just feels out of place and so out of rhythm.

Nice to see more people are finally going back and admitting that now."
