I made this thread bc I just beat odst. It's terrible. I have a hard time thinking how gaylo 4 could be worse.
It looks like ass with brown and piss filter all the time and a horrible contrast on dark places. lighting at night is also so saturated it makes everything else impossible to distinguish and they knew they fucked up the lighting because they give you a night vision mode with outlines for everything.
All the design ideas are wrong and halo doesn't work with many characters; halo 2 tried and failed with only 2 playable characters, so imagine 5.
Most combat is optional and ultra repetitive with the same 3 enemies and the same structures with maybe 1 or 2 different areas. Not having elites just makes no sense other than they didn't feel like designing them.
And all characters are very unlikable, I was hoping for all of them to die at some point. And it all amounts to a nothingburger plot no one cares about and has absolutely no meaning on its own. It follows the "and then" structure with zero nuance or meaning to whatever is happening in the moment.
It's criminal they sold this as a separate game when it lasts 3 hours and it's only cut content from halo 3.

Play the Halo MCC games in release date order. Then play 5, then Infinite, then the CE remake. Do NOT read any books or comics, and do not watch any material outside of the games. Play the games yourself. Watching someone else will literally never let you understand a game.

I've been doing exactly this for the last few weeks.
CE was impressive in all regards. I have been deeply moved by that game.
2 was fine i guess but i didn't like the plot, there weren't many gameplay improvements and they made the chief an invitee in his own game in favor of the lizard alien elite thing.
3 was very good overall and is an excellent self contained game. Had i not played the other 2, i would have liked this one anyways.
As said before, ODST is a bad dlc they sold as a separate game.
Reach is next, i don't think it's going to be any good. I don't like the idea of having sprint, but we'll see.

Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree that Garry Newman is a bad game designer who just got very lucky with Gmod? The game succeeded only because of two things: the valve assets and the valve community. And it succeeded DESPITE Newman and his vision. S&box was a pure brainchild of his, and it sucks. It tried to be roblox but for adults, which is a stupid idea because adults don't want to play roblox.

This happens way too much. It's pretty much the only way to get lower than S rank. Retards don't understand that this system only helps kill super high tier/ace planes faster. Ground targets can't evade your missiles. Getting the S rank matters more to everyone in the match than a tiny winning team bonus. And MVP is pointless ego stroking for anti-social fags. It's a good co-op mode made a bit poopy because of how scoring works and because there's no plane score/level limit, so if you want to mess around in your level 4 A-6 you get put in a game with level 18, high tier planes. You can fix the other stuff but how do you fix retarded teammates that waste time trying to kill steal? We need a real coop mode that can scale from 2-8 players on the same team, kind of like the special sorties.
