I bought it and before I noticed I already played for 4 hours. I saw the trailers but it's a bit different from what I expected.
What I likeRoguelike elements - different biomes, maps are random, you get to choose between objectives, you get to choose perks and buildings from a random pool, there are different races with different needs. A whole lot of possibilities, you also unlock new stuff through meta progression. Every playthrough/map will take you about an hour or so maybe more. You can also speed up and pause.
UI - It takes a moment to understand what all the various buttons and menus mean. But once you do its very clean and tells you exactly what production buildings make what product and how they compare in efficiency to your unlocks and whenever or not you are able to complete a production chain.
What I am neutralplier aboutCamps - You need camps to gather resources, most resources are finite so you will be forced to expand and move those camps, how often depends on their size. Especially lumber camps which turns into a minigame of sorts. That leaves large swathes of land dnb where nothing happens.
