Recently I saw a negative Half Life 2 steam review which said that the game has "no lore, no worldbuilding". Expecting mountains of lore from a 10 hour long linear shooter is already retarded, but what really frightens me is the worldbuilding part. Half Life 2 has more worldbuilding than 99% of all non-RPG games before it but the average normiecattle consoomer does not understand that you can just look around, notice and analyze things. They think that worldbuilding is when you get exposition dumps from NPCs and find skeletons inside bathrooms like in Bethesda games.

running through the empty map can cause you to fall through it, rarely. Pause, IMMEDIATELY SAVE, press the console key and write "levitate on" or - no, just "levitate on", and then open cheatengine and increase game speed and levitate to the surface again. Alternatively, you can try to fast travel if fallen through the map

I reccomend doing a no death run
(*if you get stuck in the cage, then look up the guide
or cheat your way out of it)

is to go to settings (before starting the game), setting "Dungeon ambient light" to 0, and "Night ambient light" to 0 as well!
And once you are out of the first dungeon, set "Item based player torch" to enabled (you can buy torches at shops) for an even better experience!
And keep the field of view at 60!
That is the way i played, and i think it's the best way*!
