If you want to jailbreak a Nintendo console for whatever reason then you have to buy it on release and never let it access the internet until some hacker finds a way to break in. It happened with the first Switch and will definitely happen with the second one. Point being, it's near impossible to actually have a jailbroken switch to begin with.

Yeah, but the industry has still almost exclusively made games that suck for 15 years now. Most people don't find the games that are actually good and worth the time and investment. If you can get time wasting crap for "free" or pay $60-$80 for it, the choice is obvious. It doesn't help that the "free" time wasting crap is full of gambling and porn, which are huge vices. PC and game console hardware cost is inflating way past what most people can justify anyway, so those "free" games become even more appealing.

If it's free, you're the product. Or however greed and deception drains you of your life.

wait a decade at least. I have a Ryzen 5500 which is equivalent to the 8 year old 2600 and it still powers through everything I throw at it. Maybe if you do 3D rendering as a full time job you might want to upgrade but for most people I see no reason to.
