Why is ultrakill sucked off so much by the "support indie games" crowd but trepang gets ignored?

Both of these games at their core have very similar mechanics but trepang does them better. The main way you heal in these games is by killing enemies; in ultrakill in order to recive health you need to be close to the enemy effectively nerfing all ranged weapons; in trepang enemies drop armor plates on the ground which can be picked up later.
Movement is also similar. Both games share the same slide jump slide combo and 360 degree slide that can be activated on a button press however trepang cuts out the useless stomp (i p ranked every level, beat every secret boss and i can count on my fingers the total uses of that move) and punishes spamming moves. The slide in trepang also feels better because the acceleration isn't instant making it feel more "real".
Even though trepang does this gay gun sperg operator thing with very character its till 1000 times more bearable than the retarded troony murder robot in hell having a womb bullshit ultrakill pulls. Trepang looks better than ultrakill for only a slightly higher hardware demand (i played both of these on a shitty thinkpad and ultrakiil ran at a mostly stable 60 fps while trepang tended to dip int the 50s and 40s at times, both were played on medium settings).
The only thing ultrakill did better than trepang is weapon interactions, i was kind of disappointed by not being able to shoot a grenade making it explode mid air in trepang.

MY theory on why trepang does not get glazed to the same degree is that troons get filtered by its manly super soldier aesthetic and lack of bugman reddit characters.

Finally got it yesterday and can confirm, this game FUCKS. Even tho i gotta play it at the lowest settings possible for a playable framerate on my laptop holy SHIT this game is so fucking good. Still feels great even if it's probably running at <40FPS most of the time in combat.
