<when you go to DIGITAL_ROOTS in Deltarune chapter 2, what do you found? A strange robotic body with wings, which then is occupied by Spamton as Spamton Neo. Later Swatch and Seam explain that this body is a concept or a prototype made by some lightner who had strong hopes about his creation. But now it sits in DIGITAL_ROOTS along with other corrupted data - now, this is important.
<When you delete a file on a computer, it's contents aren't erased immediately, but rather a pointer to that data is erased from things to consider by the operating system when doing Read/Write operations. So the contents will sooner or later will be overwritten, and the data will be corrupted.
Using this information, we can conclude that the Spamton Neo's body is a deleted sketch and, by extension, DIGITAL_ROOTS is a representation of deleted data. What can this tell us about BIT_ROOTS and the real ROOTS? Idk.
<So who is the lightner who made this sketch? Some believe that it's Mettaton. But in Deltarune he never leaves his house because he's shy because he never met alphys who never made him a body, so he could never go to the library and model a prototype of his dream body. Also because he's a a ghost and incorporeal.
<I believe it was Asriel who made the body. In the beginning of chapter 2, we can see a scrapped game concept on his computer (which is a meta nod to Undertale) where a similar to Spamton Neo final boss with huge wings is described. Secondly, in chapter 3, Tenna says (in a hidden cutscene) that Kris and his bro took a library laptop home once, and this was the event when he met Spamton and etc. Now we can conclude that Asriel may have made the concept of his boss on the laptop, but then deleted it when he had to return the laptop because it's public.
