I've found deus ex in general (Minus IW because it's more post-cyberpunk o algo and not very good at anything) to be overall a better "cyberpunk" immersive experience to get lost in than 2077 despite their stories being very focused and tight in scale, and having shallower worldbuilding.

The little slices of the megacities you visit are, as something you experience instead of being told about, a better representation of the dirty, sleazy and doomed cutthroat shithole world that 2077 tries to sell you, and it's done tastefully instead of shoving raunchy ads in your face 24/7. Despite not having you play as some street-level average joe, it does a better job at making you feel small in an hostile, dangerous world in a way that makes success and survival feel even more satisfying. Also, nu-DX's piss filter color scheme, though probably unintentional since the cowards tried to remove it in the director's cut, really makes its world feel polluted with smog. Pollution is not really a thing you experience much in 2077 outside of the idiocracy-esque landfills on the city's outskirts.

Only negative I have to say about HR is that the majority of gangsters you find in detroit are vantawhite aryan wiggers that look like eminem or some shit. Kinda geggy doe. 2077's gangs are better when it comes to race. There's a latinx cartel gang (even doe they accept all races), a yakuza larp gang for second generation asian immigrants who would've otherwise gone ER had japan not grabbed the world by the balls, an esoteric heavy-metal drug-fueled orgy pagan larp gang for chuddy working-class whites, etc. 2077 in general has more distinct visual identities and cultures for all factions and I like that a lot.
