It peaked early on and has been defiled repeatedly. Everybaldi likes to shit on COD but at least they change between ww2, cold war and modern scenarios, pokemon is the same shit over and over. Its the highest grossing because the people who got addicted as a child never grew up and are the biggest soyim of all.

While there is some truth to the whole "Pokemon is always the same ol' regurgitated shit" notion due to the formulaic structure of most RPGs, what they do actually change (aka. very little, honestly) is significant enough to some people in the fanbase (better known as cattle).
Now, outside of 9-year-old cacas, people who do get excited over new pokeyman entries are:
>compfags who just want the series to be always catering to them and giving them a gazzillion QoL features and min-maxed newmons / regional variants with every new installment even when such features or monsters may end up being seen as detrimental to the meta game (see: Gholdengo, H-D boots)
>TCG whales who just want more and more expansions.
>Niggas who have been conditioned into believing that there's gotta be a new Gen every 3 years.
>Nintendo shareholders since they know that the franchise itself is a massive cash cow and VVILL always end up selling a couple million consoles just by itself.
>And lastly, people who unironically want their nation (usually a 3rd world country) to be represented via a whole fucking region. This group is probably going to grow larger from now on due to the fact that Winds/Waves seems to be based on SEA countries.

I do wish they tried more with pokemon. I get that there isn't much that can be changed in the structure of a railroaded RPG, but then I don't get why they don't make a slight effort and make more open world games. Even if theres the risk its a walking simulator, Arceus was still much better received than the other recent entries. Also what happened to the spinoffs, I'm sure the goycattle would be fine with a dungeons game for le nintendo ds nostalgerino instead of a main entry

The main theory I've heard online is that they don't even try with pokemon games BECAUSE they print money. Soyboys are obsessed with pokemon and reliving their childhood, they'll buy anything no matter the quality. So, as a company that is supposed to make money, why not spend 10 million to make a game that will make you 500 million in sales? Its much more cost effective than spending 100 million and still getting 500 million.

I wouldn't be so sure about the 3DS shitting the bed before they released Pokemon for it. Hell, the initial reason I wanted the thing was Animal Crossing which came out a good few months before Pokemon X/Y, and the only reason I ended up getting X was because I got the system and a handful of games bundled as an early Christmas present. Thinking back on it, most of my favorite games on the system released well before Pokemon did.

I got a 2DS for £40 in 2022 because it was cheap and I heard it was easy to jailbreak, looking back this was a very good decision because for whatever reason the troons decided it is le nostalgerino physical media phone replacement ou algo so now in the UK it costs more to buy a "new" 3/2ds than it does to buy a Switch Oled. I fucking hate these cunts, I would like to get a new 3ds xl so I can emulate more, use the 3d and play minecraft on it but instead these niggers will lap them up for twice what they are worth and never actually use them, just decorate them with tranny stickers that will leave permanent residue and use them as a bag accessory.

I got it to play advance wars, bing bing wahoo, the terraria port and to pirate a bunch of other games on it, I also enjoyed animal crossing new leaf a hell of a lot more than i did new horizons.

The issue wasn't necessarily that there wasn't anything to play on 3ds before pokemon. There was. There just wasn't enough for the soysumer to want to buy it since the bing bing wahoo wasn't that great, and pokemon was the main reason a lot of the people i know ever had a 3ds
