Seeing Ian's legacy be drug through shit by his "friends" has been hard to watch. None of his unreleased tracks should have been made public, the EP he was working on could have been compiled but his accounts should have been left to rest. Its painfully clear how incomplete most of it is. Swingsets would have been more of a concept album, but all of that was a lifetime away and was nothing close to being realized. Sadly the 'finished' release is the direct opposite of that, being a last hurrah of scraps that didnt fit on the bloated "lil Watermark" album- hell they threw in his cover of the ongzellig theme song(under a new name), which was only recorded jokingly and shared among friends- not something that should have gone on his last official release. They have even started making and uploading music videos on his official youtube account, of course none of it embodies the style or charm of his own videos, let alone has anything to do with his work- its just the same tired "literally me" incel movie clips spliced together, indistinguishable from any other retard in the incelcore scene. Its like seeing the grave of someone you care about be repeatedly desecrated, but every ounce of creative achievement they built in life is also being rewritten and tarnished.
Ian is the only death ive never been able to fully except. Everyone else, young or old, I was able to prepare myself. They where 'dead' before their body was for one reason or another. It wasent the same with him. He was so full of life and had so many plans all of that just doesnt disappear, for that I understand why some are trying to keep the illusion alive.
It feels like someone you care about has just moved on from you, like they are still living their life somewhere far away but have left you out of it, its like old friends from highschool you start to except that they stopped caring, forget and move on. Thats what hurts the most.
