the game says that if a good guy pulls the needle then the world is saved and the world is destroyed if a bad guy pulls it. so either the ending is a giant middle finger or there's a dialogue that says there will still be an apocalypse which makes the ending even more braindead because the characters willingly destroyed the world for the cop out ambiguous reddit ending. no matter how you frame it the ending to that game is unsatisfying tearbait cop-out melodrama because an actual cool ending wouldn't work with rpgslutta gameplay

First, get a free DAW (I recommend Audacity, although Renoise is quite nice as well) then add some plugins. In my opinion, airwindows has some of the best, both fun to use and generally practical for sound-sculpting (My favorites are ToTape, DeHiss, Mackity and Mastering2). After that, if you are looking to program some music, get a free tracker like MilkyTracker and experiment with that. If you have a Mac, try out MetaSynth. If you're on Linux, try out Din is Noise. Both are good for producing unique sounds which seemingly no other software can manage. If you have the coin for it, I'd also invest into a recording machine (Nothing too expensive, a Tascam DP-006 should suffice). Don't worry too much about mic quality (if anything attempting to tame the mic is probably best thing for you if you're just starting out) just make sure you have good placement. For that, I would check out Steve Albini's tutorials on youtube.
