Why: Locke’s whole character arc is obsessive, sensory, and spiritual he fixesates on the Island and physical rituals (hunting, crawling through caves, touching the Island’s strange things). Gooning is about surrendering to a single intense fixation, repeating rituals, and finding eroticized delight in loss of control; Locke is built for that: he’s driven by belief, displays ecstatic submission to the Island’s will, seeks tactile communion (talking to the hatch, the black rock, the monster, the cabin), and willingly surrenders agency when he thinks it serves a higher purpose. His intensity, reverence for pain/ritual, and readiness to be consumed by a cause fit the goon archetype perfectly. Alternative: if you want a more chaotic, predatory goon vibe, Sawyer provides smug, addictive teasing energy, but for pure ritualized, deepest gooning Locke wins.

I personally first listened to Soundtracks for the Blind, but I wouldn't recommend it, that album is quite frankly their magnum opus and possibly one of the greatest albums to be made, its also quite avant-garde, and may be considered too much for first listeners.
Instead I suggest two paths, either begin with Children of God (their most listenable and best No-Wave album, No wave being a sort of extreme form of punk, and the reason as to why the band began in the first place), before going listening to the rest of their No Wave albums, which even I haven't finished. Or you can first begin with either White Light from the Mouth of infinity/ The Great Annihilator, and then either return to their pre-hiatus albums, or begin listening to Soundtracks for the Blind and the Trilogy (The Seer, To Be Kind, The Glowing man).
I've heard others say that they should listen to the band chronologically, which your free to do, maybe skip The Burning World

The userbase is full of pretentious theater kids but the UI and functionality is objectively better than imdb's.
Also I really like leaving very short negative reviews of movies I hate. I know that nobody's probably going to ever read that but shouting in the void kinda lets me relax a little.

The more I see the new games and media becoming popular the more I begin to agree with the original gamergate chicks. In the past I used to agree with the "games now are bad because woke" crowd, but now the exact same games get released, but the women wear less clothes, or are just less ugly and they get lauded as some great gaming comeback (marvel rivals). Although the ugly modern culture war certainly made games uglier, no amount of pornification will make them fun again.

Can people on both sides just stop being obsessed about the amount of clothes the characters are wearing and focus on the gameplay? Sure, fan service is a nice addition, but I don’t want everything to be about that, and I don’t want some bitter femcel who couldn’t care less about the game to dictate what should and should not be in the game.
