If you are in a budget. The Roland sp404 mk1 will be a good option

If you are good in budget: The akai mpc 2000 is the safest option, their compression can make your drum patterns sound grimey making it a staple to hip-hop.

If you are rich as fuck: The 3000 is the goat and has a lot of buttons to mess with. Basically the 2000 but with more features.

Even though it's modern: the teenage engineerings ko2 is the best for fun and live performance. The machine favors playfulness over professionalism with their effects. Don't get it wrong, it is a fucking beast to work with. The Riddim and ting edition centers around live, dance hall, and reggae. It also includes a microphone that you can put effects on, such as reverb.
