>>30084sometimes optical media is pretty bad. it's mostly consumer grade writable discs that are bad, because they're made out of weak ass plastic that degrades over time. i didn't think it could happen to me until i bought a stack of 4.7gb ritek disks, and every single one of them was faulty. m-discs are good because they're made out of stone and you need a special drive with a super powerful laser to write to them, and they last for hundreds of years. most disks that are mastered on an industrial scale (movies, software, games) also last for a very long time
