And of course, I always try real life but there are not a lot of people outside UNLESS there is an event, but, to know about events, I would have to use proprietary websites… although I can lurk in those places

depends on how socially adaptable you are. If you literally just can't get along with most people because your brain is just too picky about the kinds of people you're willing to be friends with (troons, normies, progressives, etc), then genuinely consider accepting isolation. Otherwise, if it won't make you want to kys, then just larp for the sake of being friends with others. Platform doesn't really matter and you don't have to avoid all software just because it's le proprietary.

You're not really missing much when it comes to most social media platforms. Also I wouldn't worry about proprietary websites considering that if you go to basically any website ever you are running non-free JS.
