What harness does /tech/ use? I wanted to try a custom one and choose ZeroClaw, but it's dograisin and requires so much tinker trannying for things that shouldn't need it. I poured in an afternoon and an entire Claude Pro cooldown period into turning it into something that is worse than claude code in every way. I mostly chose ZeroClaw because everything else is written in TypeScript and that seems jeety to me. I now understand the benefits of a harness written in an interpreted language because it's much easier to make iterative patches. I'm thinking about trying Odysseus or OpenClaw. I like TUIs but I won't lie, Claude's desktop app is pretty comfy. I'd probably use it if I would get Headroom to work. Thoughts?

For any normal person NixOS is not worth it. Gentoo is nice if you are actually going to take advantage of what it does. It's like nixos in that sense, but it's also easier to adjust to coming from another distro. Arch is probably the better of these to move to from something like fedora. You will still need to learn a few things about how to use it. But it's actually a really simple distro. Once you get used to more minimal distros like arch that don't make all the choices for you it's hard to go back to something like fedora or mint.

Is getting a remote /tech/ job still possible? It used to be a big thing people talked about but with ai and over saturation I'm not sure if it still exists. It can really be anything related to tech for me, whether it's programming or IT or anything else, I just want it to be something that can be done remotely so I don't have to leave my house. It's a lot more affordable than you think, I've looked into boats specifically but you can get a pretty good one for relatively cheap, much less then what you would pay for a house.
