'Teens, recommend me a new Linux Distro that doesn't constantly crash Steam or its own window/display manager, but also works right out of box and doesn't require me to be an autistic codetranny to get any use out of it. Ideally, I want something that's similar to Windows in its layout because I find centered docks and top-of-screen panels/taskbars to be insufferable. yeah, they’re annoying, but so far it’s basically just firefox and like 3 other snca software that get installed as snaps when you install them through apt.

also remember, everyone keeps shilling that narrative that troonix is perfect, but it isn’t. it’s still garbage for desktop use and only really good for servers. ubuntu might still be your best bet.

if privacy is your concern, you can pretty much configure any linux distro for privacy, so it doesn’t really matter that much.
