Currently, I've been daily driving qubes os.

I love qubes because the separation of identities/contexts is exactly how my brain works and everything just feels more organized. I can spin up a disposable vm in like 2 seconds to test something. I can configure several vpns all running at the same time.

However, it took literal months to set up a workflow that worked for me and even then installing new software is a pain in the ass as you have to install it into qube templates. Also I can't play video games because they don't run that well in vms.

I'm getting a new computer soon, these are my options:
- stick with windows to make my life easier
- use arch linux
- use cachyos

>I can configure several vpns all running at the same time.
i do this on arch via wireproxy, which is software that allows you to use wireguard configs as socks5/http proxies
then i set applications that need to use certain VPNs to only connect to the internet with the corresponding proxy

 β„–22766

>I love qubes because the separation of identities/contexts is exactly how my brain works and everything just feels more organized
you can use an immutable distro with distrobox to achieve the same thing while having the option to use other sources of software. take a look at fedora silverblue

So this is a split off thread from the Based thread by Bigdustycheese. it's the one with the blue PHP elephant.

Anyways I started programming A text board called MiniMaxx. I'm planing on making a YouTube video explaining how it works.

I'll be dumping updates here, instead of Bigdustycheese's thread. Also It's CC0, so you can copy the code and do whatever with it.

Actually, Yes. This will be an interesting problem to try to fix. I Have no idea how to fix something like this, I have never done this before. But this is a golden opportunity to dig in and learn something new. Probably will go lower level on the server side with this one.

>>22595
I will probably do that. I did some research, and JSON seems perfect. Thanks for reminding me about it.

 β„–22693

>>22669
>I Have no idea how to fix something like this,
this problem is exactly why people use database servers like pgsql and mysql instead of flat file

 β„–22694

>>22693
cant you just use mutexes? it doesnt sound that hard

 β„–22697

>>22694
you could
but why reinvent the wheel when people have already solved this problem, including all edge cases that your own solution likely won't cover

 β„–22724

That's a cool project! Apart from the obvious technical lackings already mentionned, here is a list of ideas / improvements that you may find useful:

- Before adding anything big (database, file storage, …), starts by a well-structured base: Organization is key, starts by a correct naming convention for other developers to understand your project.
>You can name your modules by their plain name like "header.php", "footer.php", etc… without overheads. Separating the page by modules is a good idea.

>"database.txt" is not exactly a database, more like a message log. Rename it "message_log.txt"

>Name the CSS file "style.css", a well-known name.

- Use correct HTML5 tags, it helps everyone (both humans and machines) understanding yout website structure: https://www.tutorialrepublic.com/html-reference/html5-tags.php.

i'm thinking about getting a microcontroller board, and the esp32 is currently on my mind. i hear many mention development boards like raspberry pi and arduino, so i'd like to learn what they’re mainly used for since i don’t have any experience with them. i already have some projects in mind, like connecting it to my jbl speaker, building a snake game using an led board, or even making a small car like the one shown in this video o algo

 β„–22720

>>22698 (OP)
yea esp32 is cheaper and more prevalent than arduino. I used one to connect a chicken door to wifi to get the time from the internet, to close at a certain time.

There is a speculation Hector groomed him into suicide. As far as I remember, Near had a thread on the farms but no one cared about it up until the point Near showed up himself to start a drama. He tried to bully Null with his suicide threat, Near's posts are still available on KF with his private conversations with Null via Email. After the suicide there was no proofs except Hectors tweets back in late 10s. The papers appeared just a couple of years ago

What Linux OS do you like the most?

 β„–22647

Ubuntu

Ubuntu even doe snaps is weird and I dont understand why they exist. Otherwise it just werks for the work I need to do. It's SLIGHTLY more supported by actual companies.

snaps are pretty good for servers. also they worked pretty well when they were first released

can someone recommend me a drawing software for linux similar to paint i tried pinta which is kinda ass since it has no layers and kinda buggy from what i used rn im on krita which is forgein to me since i never used a more advanced drawing app beside paint

 β„–22679

gimp

 β„–22681

photopea (from flatpak)

 β„–22683

>>22679
Krita mogs even if its trannyish because its just a freeware clone of photoshop made to be able to open .psd but with extra stuff to pass off as an independent drawing program, so yeah just photopea that doesn't have to run in your browser probably idk never used photopea
I tried gimp once and its actually horrible, it's literally the freeware steriotype where everything is made for the comfort of the programmer and not you, it's le bad
