I'm glad this shit is over. I've never read any modern manga but I thought most of the designs were just so ugly 2nd to Dandadan and they were drawn in a way that just looks uncanny (probably the eyes and ways the facial features are distanced) and its just slop.

Again, not as bad as Dandadan who's main characters are western levels of ugly but good riddance.

in the manga misaki is fooled by famazaki to help with fuyucomi instead, and because the meetup tries to ack by carbonmonoxide poisoning they can just take satou out of the tent once he's passed out
the dramatic deflation is the entire point of welcome to the NHK, because satou and the misaki act dramatic cuz thats what tey've seen on tv
the "jumping off a cliff" and "emotionally warming scene of passionately shouting at a suicidal guy not to do it" are horribly cliche and cringe and thats the perspective satou and misaki have on their own lives
but misaki doesnt actually know how to convince satou not to kill himself, and satou doesn't really have the courage to jump immediately either
the manga makes this more explicit though

I guess that makes sense, I haven't read the manga at all but in the context of the show it doesn't seem like they are being dramatic it seems like that's the normal tone of the show. So when the normally dramatic tone of the show gets interrupted with a silly gag it feels weird. The more I find out about the manga the more I realize how much interesting stuff they cut out.

I just finished the 2001 hellsing. it has it's pros. it feels much more like an old RE game in the first half than ultimate did, and the vibes are immaculate.
However, soybrethren, the second half is ASS storywise, because it didn't follow the manga. Also thrembillions of cases of japshits having no idea how firearms, militaries, or squad tactics work.
i give it a 7
afterthought the animation was meh, the fights were much better in ultimate, also every character except Integra was gemmier in Ultimate

Its a romance / drama visual novel the premise will come off as very generic and boring but what really makes this peak are the characters at first i thought i could not relate to a single one of them but by the end of the introductory chapter (peak btw) i genuinely couldnt stop writing down all my thoughts these characters feel so real none of them are good people that you would want to root for yet you can still feel what pain they are going through so many things they keep inside its alot of reading between the lines to understand them but damn the protagonist is like hellish this vn has made me feel so many things and i think thats the selling point but its probably not for everyone the closing chapter will change course a bit I haven’t finished tho im still reading
