Haruhi is one of the worst animes you can watch and it's popularity was completely astroturfed.
It's promising for the first few episodes (but they rush the only good part of the original light novel geg), and then immediately wastes it because it isn't a show that is meant to be interesting and well written. None of the characters are very developed at all and exist for you to THINK that they are.
The show was made for moeshit enjoyers who have nothing better to do than to act like an anime girl who is "le quirky chungus" is secretly top-tier writing.
