if you go on tradingview and you look at coins like bitcoin and you check the price of 1 bitcoin to the price of 1 USD instead of checking the price of 1 Bitcoin to the price of 1 ounce of gold you are already so far behind anyone who even knows how the market works that basically you need to watch youtube for 700 hours to catch up

i am not very good at converting between currencies so forgive me, but according to this graph i might have to double the size of the image I have created every 10 years in order to accommodate the lowering of the value of the paper.

the previous image was 8 kilobytes and the next images was 156 kilobytes which is a difference about 148 kilobytes. this does not seem like a lot of computer storage at first but i fear that it could one day take up a lot of space on my disk.

well you see there have been two very simple systems in history.

the old Nordic system is that if someone removes the jewelry from your wife's head then you go to his house and you butcher him like a sheep. then you take his head and you take it to his house and you put it on top of a stick at his house, and you leave a sign that said "this man took some silver from my wife and so I butchered him like a sheep." this system has been very successful in countries like scotland where my heritage is from.

and that was a pretty good system for thousands of years. but now there is a much simpler telephone system where if someone takes your wife's jewelry you can telephone the police and then they will put them into an iron cage and also try to get the jewelry back from them.

i would really enjoy to try a finnish dish called gravvask. you take fish and you load it up into a barrrel with sea salt, then you bury it at the edge of the shore many feet under the sand. then you let the fish rot and ferment for weeks or months. then you take it out and use it as a topping. the scottish version of this is arguably worcestershire sauce but it isn't quite the same as I do not think it is as fermented and it doesn't contain the flesh of the fish.

as a male with mostly british DNA I have the rare condition that I am unable to smell the smell of fish. to me fish, even in the microwave smells like delicious chicken because i am a true british male. this is historically because in Britain no man was allowed to hunt in the king's Forrest, and because most of your chickens and cattle would go to the land lord. so, the only source of meat was eggs and fish for hundreds of years.

i have been told that some japs and some innuits have the same condition from eating so much fish.

if all i could eat for meat for the rest of my life was pink salmon i would die such a happy man.

i will return soon because i would like to brew some extra strong tea. then we can debate more about how iceland won.

something that ive always found interesting is that if you have a degree in something (engineering, teaching, admin at the soyak party) and 5-7 years of work experience, all it takes is a good gmat score, and a compelling personal narrative and you can get into a good business school
from there youre an interview away from making mid six figures and the possibility of seven figures in a few years

 β„–15455

ive been lucky to have a lot of job experience in my field pre-college. if you are still in high school, you need to do extra-curriculars and other activities. i wouldve never learned photoshop or CAD if i never tried.
<
even now, you can always learn and experience more. you can always follow your dreams if you focus on it and give everything you can to reach it.

five months have passed and we are still in denial?
are we in a recession (some condiments here say it is so due to commodity prices)
i think the unemployment issue and the lack of job creation is the most indicative factor in a recession because you can see it (ev&doe they fudge the numbers)

 β„–15442

>>15440
arguably, we cant say for certain that the lack of job creation is a factor due to the outdated way they census the general population and that most companies are just trying to keep their expenses lower to reach higher profits

 β„–15444

there is a lot of different ways of taking the unemployment numbers U1-U7, and they all show the same trend

How do I buy stocks and what stocks should I invest in?

Should I also buy crypto and if so what coin should I invest in?

for stocks just keep ur eyes peeled for ipos because those always make money especially if it’s a company you have heard of

for crypto invest in ether xrp solana and monero

depends on what you want, and how much you have
crypto is good if you realize its all a social game, and if you wanna win you need to make friends on twitter or telegram who get shit early (you also need to realize it isnt real)
as a whole my only advice is to not let money you wouldnt spend otherwise change your life, just look at what you start with and where you'll go, and know your own stress levels
if you wanna get started in crypto, just get some ETH / SOL and gamble, or do blue chips … stuff like abritrum always goes up after ETH, so if you miss an ETH move buy. theres a ton of patterns like that in stocks and crypto.
for instance: bitcoin hit 100k before ETH broke 3k, it was pretty obvious to anyone ETH would prob hit an ATH when BTC did due to past movements, it just took longer. that same lag occurs in a lot of different coins/stocks and markets, identify the trend and take gains :D
also reading and looking into stuff helps, if you're at the party you may win

where will (((YOU))) go when you make it?

 β„–15433

In terms of actual locations, I'd probably stay in my current state (new jersey) as long as the gov doesn't do anything to make life any more unbearable. Not too far from Philly, New york, Washington DC, and a nice range of urban, suburban, and rural areas to choose from. Not a bad place to be as long as you can afford it.

where would you vacation?

 β„–15436

>>15434
Honestly, vacation isn't something I really think about. I've been up and down the East coast of the US, but not anywhere outside of that except for a short visit to puerto rico. Of the places I've been, florida would probably be my second option for where to live. Maybe Miami or Orlando. Internationally, I feel that I could never truly be at Home. Then again, you never know until you try, right?

While generally true, I find it a bit disingenuous to call it "inflation". The distinction has to be made, even if prices are still rising. Actual 10% inflation is far worse and would be worse that it was even during covid stimulus.

it'd be interesting to see how vending machines would fare in different countries. the ease of access of them in japan was really cool in my opinion, because the ability to get a nice cold drink was very nice while walking for miles and miles. do you guys think it'd get a return?

If I'm understanding it correctly, new H1B recipients will need their employers to pay 100k straight to the gov in order for them to qualify for the program. Do any of you have experience with H1B or how this might affect things? Ive heard that Amazon actually brings in some of the most H1B visa people which I thought was interesting. On an investopedia article I saw that 73% of H1b recipients come from India which again, seems somewhat strange. Overall this is a topic I know very little about since it doesn't really relate to my industry, but I'd love to hear any of your thoughts regarding this recent development or the visa program in general.

It likely will be repealed or it will not hold up in court for some reason or another … the main purpose was to get support for the admin (Hence the lie on air about how it was a YEARLY fee for ALL visa holders not new ones)
As for the whole India involvement in immigration, its the same playbook the Chinese had … lots of people, make deals with foreign countries to export people, those people inevitably pay it back in some way or another, or societal values in host nation come to support home nation
As a whole, there are far fewer jobs in the US (-911k recently), and the H1B issue is especially bad for entry level positions in industries like tech, and this is creating a lot of anger, the Trump admin wants support of the younger groups, so they make big claims and it goes nowhere (like any promise by any politician)
Also Indians are gross, hence the rangeban

what the fuck makes $AAPL valuable? Apple does literally nothing and somehow wins. I cannot think of anything relevant that Apple does in the big 2025. Macs are raisin and iPhones are overhyped so whos giving them a value?

 β„–15327

>>15326 (OP)
Their value is being the only thing that works with the Apple ecosystem, them being proprietary is the only thing keeping them alive

it is a strong company with strong financials and it was highly innovative
its a status symbol, and trusted by many large financial firms, and the people who hold the most arent selling so itll go up

 β„–15372

they revolutionized the market. lots of dominant phone companies fucked up when they didn't treat apple seriously and try to copy them. take blackberry for example. It was a triple digit stock and now it's only 4 dollars and serves as a cybersecurity company rather than a hardware company like apple. Apple also is the most innovative by far, and when you ask anybody if they would take a free apple iphone 17 or the newest samsung, they're taking the apple phone. they also have invested into large amounts of headquarters and provide scholars to those who are willing to work at apple. Considering that Tim is pleasing Trump, which means political ties to the corporation, they're going to be here for a while.

 β„–15374

another thing i noticed too is that AAPL pays dividends which is nice.
