I need help for a storefront I am working on with a couple buddies. It's going to be similar to ebay but for whites. For the early stages there will be no vetting process but later on that could be on the table, preferably this will be a non-profit with limited fees to combat the jewry that takes place on ebay. Still Working on semantics and privacy concerns but the site could be launched at any time but I need someone competent to analyze the stack. I am mostly involved in promo but have some knowledge of the technical side of things. There won't be any illicit goods and we want to be tax compliant. Email @ gaysforfuentes@proton.me

kind of interesting to see that starbucks, which has dominated US culture (and abroad) in regards to coffee, is being forced to shutter stores.
anecdotally, in my area three stores are closing this month.
why is this? i have heard remarks it was because of the increasing affordability which led to less people consuming starbucks as it was seen as less of a luxury (seems retarded to me). what comes to mind is the fact people are making stuff more at home, especially post COVID, or increased focus on health ((US obesity capped in 2023) <- is this related to Ozempic?))
how can (((YOU))) take advantage of this?
possibly prime commercial real estate in walking distances of businesses, stores, and universities to open a themed cafe (cat cafe if you're cool) or something similar
is this related to a larger market trend?
what do you think soyim

i think it definitely could die out, especially with how many there are. im more interested in the WHY, as that would determine whether shorting it is a good idea (or other similar firms)

id agree with first post that they just have a shitton of stores everywhere and a uninteresting menu. they just sell prepackaged food items and coffee, which is easier to get in a gas station or at home.
<
if you want a sugar bomb to start off your day, then go spend your 15 USD on it every day but that eventually gets unreasonably expensive. nobody has that kind of money anymore, and its extremely unhealthy anyways which is a red flag for the modern consumer who considers healthier foods.
<
id argue that local coffee shops win just because they make food in their kitchens (keyed as f*ck) and they serve the basic coffees which everyone likes. starbucks simply lives in a world where the only thing they can sell is their brand name rather than a solid product that can compete with others.
<
tl;dr starbucks fell off. theres not really any reason to go there for the modern consumer. id short it just because itll just stop getting sales as people start caring about microplastics, food quality, and healthy eating.

 β„–15506

Personally I don't think we'll ever see Starbucks truly die out though. Their existing brand loyalty and "innovation" in creating new trendy drinks makes me view them as the Apple of fast food. We all know that apple could suffer from a few years of stagnation without taking a large hit to sales. I imagine that although future growth would be limited, that Starbucks will continue to hold it's niche for ~10 years unless something dramatically changes

 β„–15513

>>15506
my point earlier that people trying to eat healthier will be that "dramatic change".

 β„–15542

Starbucks is nothing but a human trafficking pedo coverup

 β„–15563

For me what made me not like it was the flavor, shit just tastes bad now.

For my area scooters was actually here first and we had a lot of local coffee shops the coffee shops in my area are a hidden gem way better than the local coffee shops i have been too in big Metro areas.

That said i feel like compitition is a lot of it too. In my area we have scooters,7 brew, Dutchbros, and all the restaurants that happen to sell coffee too.

It wouldn't help either how my local starbucks was managed so poorly. Long lines shit service, fucked up orders and still having to pay 15+ for burnt ass coffee and microwave sandwich didn't seem like a good value proposition.

anecdotally, the job market is tough. i think that a there are too many colleges and too many people have degrees, and fundamentally the lack of jobs are killing the american social contract (and other factors that you cannot fix anymore like immigration)
also, america is less of a country now than an economic zone, and the corporations inhabiting this nation realize that are acting vampiric … everything gone ya kno?
<
there will be far fewer jobs in the future until there is a boomerang effect in my opinion, or a change in the focus of the economy from producing bullshit (ai slop, tech slop, social media slop) to real things that require people

 β„–15461

>>15457
good point. how do you think this will come to pass?

 β„–15504

Well, just go down the list of industries that employ the most people globally and realize that most of those could never be profitable in the United States due to high living costs from a higher general standard of living. Nobody likes to hear it but Americans are to a large extent spoiled, or at least our living standards are kept artificially high by regulations. In other words, it's impossible to be poor because the law simply doesn't allow those living conditions. If this could be reversed, I could see more job creation, but even then, I'm not sure many Americans would want to take those jobs. The only industry in which I see both job creation and decent wages is healthcare. Healthcare won't be replaced by robots within our lifetime. Nurses and doctors will be in increasing demand and I think they stand to gain the most over the coming decades.

We live in an international economy. Our schools only teach national macroeconomics. There are many jobs which are desperate for skilled workers, in other countries. Skilled blue collar workers and entry level office workers in 3rd world countries are flourishing right now. American investors are also flourishing. Its just American workers who are struggling because any job that isnt nailed down is going overseas due to their emerging infrastructure and talent pool. Solutions? Destroy those cheap talent pools, invest in them yourself, American Juche. Whatever prevents you from competing with someone who works for a tenth of what you can work for.
