i worked at an investment bank in college because my friends dad was the cto :D
but seriously, just get involved in investment clubs / vc clubs or entrepreneurship clubs early on in college, get a strong gpa and work experience
any investment bank or high finance position is recruiting from primarily private universities and get interns for their senior and junior years their sophomore year, so be prepared
if you dont make that, get strong internships, perform well on the gmat and go to a good business school and get recruited
or start a company and when you inevitably fail do not give up
