>>963189What would you like to gain right now from lifting?
If you want strength and size then lift weights
If you like cardio then just do some cardio
Weight lifting is pretty easy, you push things on one day, pull things on the next, then hit your legs after that, then take a day off.
Of course itβs gonna get more complicated from here on out, but thatβs the gist of a training regimen

>>963505Surely you don't have to have a demarcation between cardio and weight lifting? I enjoy finishing off with cardio after a workout or while waiting for a machine to be free
β963569[Quote]
>>963557If you enjoy this then thatβs fucking awesome dude keep at it
I personally spend my rest days doing cardio
Itβs just I donβt wanna overwhelm a newbie, itβs helpful to pick a practise and get good at that first before you start adding stuff in. I think building discipline right at the start is way more important than what exercises you do

is there a way to make bulgarian death squats bearable? i lowkeynuinely feel like passing out at 8th rep and i gotta do 12. i do them after leg press, so they are only the second exercise
β963838[Quote]
>>963776Bulgarian death squats? Do you mean split squats?
I use a smith machine and a I use a thick deadlift plate underneath my squating foot for more range of motion.
They fucking suck. That's why I do them though.
<Leg press is, performative…. You can argue against that but almost any other squatting exercise is superior. I always found that overtraining my legs not only hindered my muscle growth, but reduced my ability to ENJOY leg day.
I only do one quad exercise per leg day, one hamsting exercise, one calf exercise, ab and adductors.
I got my barbell squat up to 182.5kg - 405lbs AFTER reducing the amount of work done to my quads.
So maybe just do split squats and ditch the leg press. I can leg press almost 400kg+ but what does that even mean if it's not as beneficial as other quad exercises?
<If you're sure you're not fatigued, then I can advise you to start doing some cardio here and there. I can go to failure on my squatting lifts much more efficiently now that my VO2 max is higher and my cardio is better :)

So also, just doing them more will make improve your endurance overtime (given that you're not overtraining)

<jew spacei know they are called split squats but i call them death squats cuz its so fitting

>>964121Hm interesting
I think everyone is like this with upper/lower body strength, I mean your legs are essentially just massive muscles made to be extremely resilient to fatigue.
Maybe, try and alternate your quad exercises, so one week do split squat -> leg press and next week do barbell squat and leg extensions, so your muscles can heal better.
Lifting is only 20% of the work, the other 80% is all recovery
