Yeah I'm pretty sure that's the point of tofu, I've only ever had tiny chunks of it in miso soup before that though. A video I watched also suggests the same thing, it's a pretty flexible ingredient. It basically tastes like nothing, it's like flavorless cubed cottage cheese. Those three pieces I posted were as flavorless as they were gay. I guess it also helps to dry or marinate it before adding soysauce or something, because I'd take a bite and literally only the outside was covered in soysauce.
But with the chicken sandwich, it adds a cheese texture without the flavor. So it would probably be worth adding flavor to and using it as like a soysauce or bbq flavored cheese
