Hello guys, we're gonna take a break from tenor for a second in this thread because I had the idea to run a soycraft geopol and wanted to ask you for your thoughts.
This would entail running the server for 1-2 months (basically until everybody gets bored). Currently, soycraft averages around 10-20 people tops. This is primarily because the initial influx of people got bored after a month, as soycraft had no end goal whatsoever & there was other mismanagement that I won't get into. Either way, the sharty geopol would be surfing on that initial 100 player count for its entire lifetime.
The sharty geopol would be running
https://nodes.soy on a premade map. Currently nodes is the plugin of preference for every single major geopol server, as towny fell out of use due to its shit war mechanics. You can read more about the plugin on the website but trust me, it's really good. If you're not familiar with geopolitical servers, they revolve around groups of players choosing nations to larp as and fight other nations. You're able to capture the bases of other nations if you win against them in wars. For our purposes the nations & map could either be IRL historical shit, sharty related or fictional whatever, I don't really care myself and this can be decided later. Examples of geopols are intcraft and crusalis.
I'm familiar with a bunch of people who run geopol servers so for the sharty geopol I could get us a really nice map, gun plugins, maybe even vehicles etc. basically top of the line shit. It'd be way into the future though. What I want to know is if there's interest from you guys in a competitive server with an actual end goal.
Also I may or may not allow some ex-/dem/ guys to play and set up their own nations depending on the consensus.
<reddit spacing>chatgpt tldr: They’re proposing running a short-term (1–2 month) “geopolitical” Minecraft server on Soycraft to revive player interest. The server would use the Nodes plugin on a premade map, feature nation-based roleplay and wars with an actual end goal, and include high-quality features like guns and possibly vehicles. They’re asking the community if there’s interest in a competitive geopol server, since past Soycraft activity dropped due to lack of direction and mismanagement.^my tldr: nations server where you fight and conquer other groups, could add guns/vehicles, would run for 1-2 months, is there interest?(pics are from intcraft)

An update on recent progress: I've set up the nodes plugin and am going to be painting territories now. Next will come setting up the remaining plugins, including XC which'll be our weapons plugin. I already have some good models and configs ready (stolen) so it shouldn't be too difficult.
It'll be a map of Europe, I'll send you a picture as soon as it's ready.

We would also be interested in any nation who would want to split the strait of Gibraltar in order to ensure Neutrality over one of the three vital veins of the Mediterranean.

>Currently, soycraft averages around 10-20 people topsthis is VERY good for any server and has already outperformed SC2. Soycraft has a solid base of dedicated players and you can't see that in a number
> surfing on that initial 100 player count for its entire lifetime.I get that it would be short and sweet but player count isn't everything the same way PPH is not what makes the sharty good.
In SC2, mist did a lot of advertisements on SPVA youtube and tiktok and we got a high number of players but ~99% of them left after their heckin 2 week minecraft phase
PPH is the
GDP of jannys

Would you like to see pre-made historical nations or would you rather make your own? Historical nations (exact time period can be decided but ww2 is generally the best) would already have territories, whereas with custom nations you'd start with only a few territories and would conquer wilderness land. I personally believe historical nations would be better but it's up to you.
