I've worked at both Walmart and Target. Walmart is better believe it or not. My team leads and the store manager were chill. We didn't have walkies or any similar device so we weren't constantly hounded by the manager or other employees.
Target is different. All the people above me had a huge stick up their ass. Including the store manager. It really does feel like there's a difference in the people that work at these stores. Walmart is more lower class, crass people while Target is more teenagers and catty adults. I was incredibly lucky to work at Target since a lot of people want to work there, and I regret leaving, but Walmart treated and paid me better.
It's not that bad. If you've never worked, just do it.

I worked at Target for a year when I was 19, and it was the direct cause of me becoming radicalized. Spics are entitled pieces of shit that do everything in their power to inconvenience you if you aren't one of them. They populate like Indians and take over entire teams in the workforce. Niggers do nothing but cause trouble, and you aren't allowed to intervene. HR will throw a fit if you do. Only decent groups of people I ever dealt with while on the floor were Whites and Asians. If they were any shade of brown, they would treat you like you were subhuman. 2/10 job, would not recommend if you're new to the workforce.
