Yeah but sometimes that just pushes it deeper into your nostrils. I feel like I have to use my fingernail to really get it out. I wash my hands and fingernails thoroughly after it so I don't know if it's that bad, but it still feels somewhat gross yeah.

You can use your nails covered by the tissue though. It's gross habit I'm guilty of, but a lot of people do this subtly, so don't feel alone. Some people just carry picking their nose like they did during childhood into adulthood
