The only good thing about imageboards are anonymity and their lightweight, fast UI. Other than that, they have the capacity to be an order of magnitude lower quality than most mainstream media outlets.

You can't dictate the quality of a given catalog. Your fun hinges on what the userbase is feeling like posting and replying to at that time. Whereas with, say, YouTube, you can. There's a glut of permanently maintained content and an algorithm that will dynamically and automatically serve it based on what you like.

Regardless of your prepositions about the internet and media consumption, there's a reason why the overwhelming majority of traffic flows to these platforms as opposed to 4c or soyjak.party.
