as an imageboard it's hard not to be related to 4chan. I feel like this site started off 4chan-related but is now completely separate by virtue of developing a culture that the average 4chan user would find incomprehensible and annoying, then gathering a userbase of people that may or may not be using this as their first imageboard and be unfamiliar with 4chan's culture, and then finally having its own sphere of splinters that are specifically meant to be offshoots of it rather than offshoots of both it and 4chan (which sites like the 8chan revivals or nu-krautchan arguably are).

This is the other thing. Gen-Alpha and half of Gen-Z never learned how to venture outside of the bubble of the main 10 social media platforms. As someone on the younger middle-half of Gen-Z, I only did because I'm a 'tismGOD sperg.
<The other thing is that the core internet, I don't know what you'd call it, "quality posters" I suppose (the kind that existed on forums) has actually shrunk in size.
