good mindset
basic movement (left up down right) hjkl
modes
ESC to go back to normal
i for insert (write stuff)
v for visual (your selection stuff)
x for deleting a single character
dd for deleting an entire line
go off from there and have fun
also you should use neovim, it's much more fleshed out
also emacs better
