One of the most obscure pieces of imageboard culture lore that somehow stayed under the radar is that sneed is actually very likely a reference to a real store and person, and the 1987 Chuck v. Purina case. Chuck's Feed and Seed fought a legal battle against Ralston Purina Company, a farming supplies manufacturer.
