Liking femboys isn't gay in the sense that it's not attraction to a male. What this means is, we connect things together via their properties, their appearance, sound, feel, taste and smell. For instance, big and tall wooden thing with leaves is most likely a tree. Now, human males have a natural tendency to be attracted to human females, however we have no innate biological idea of what masculinity is and what femininity is (disregarding the female biological body and the male biological body, things like penis/vagina and breasts) despite those being the basis for attraction. Now a femboy, is a male who likes to appear as a female whilst wanting to be male, this comes from a desire of a submissive role, with femininity being associated with submissiveness. From the day you are born, you receive information regarding culture, societal norms, right and wrong, masculinity and femininity, etc. This is why we associate skirts and makeup with girls, despite other human civilizations having them be associated with dudes, in fact the first person to ever use makeup was male. Because of this, the human brain, or atleast the part of it responsible for attraction, is tricked by femboys (presuming they pass of course), and associates them as women. So although femboys are male, attraction towards them isn't gay.
