On April 1st, 2017; Reddit officially launched r/place, a canvas where anyone with an account could place one pixel every 5 minutes, it became a huge hit and was ended shortly after.

On April 1st, 2022; they remade the project for a second time, and it was an even bigger success, unfortunately bringing way more people to the site, with r/place shortly ending after just like the first time.

Fortunately, the Reddit CEO, "spez" was getting rightfully called out, although for fully different reasons, them being, him shutting down many features which help neckbeard subreddit moderators, instead of the constant censorship of differing opinions and lack of moderation surrounding pedophilia.

Because of this, Reddit had it's own users turn against their own beloved site, so spez decided to bring back the beloved r/place on 2023, a year after the previous one, although this time not on April 1st like others.

Unfortunately for spez, his censorship attempts don't work on an open canvas with thousands plotting against him, causing several artworks to say "fuck spez" in protest, although almost all we're overtaken with the flag of whatever political cause the basement dwellers needed to virtue signal about next because nothing overrides Reddit constant performative nature.

The third installment of the project was shut down around the same time as the first 2 were, surprisingly not shut down earlier than usual.

It has been 3 years since the last r/place happened, the quote on quote "protests" that Reddit had against the CEO didn't work, almost entirely due to the incapability for the Redditors to stick with something for even a week, and their unending addiction to the internet, which caused almost zero loss to the userbase.

Now that it has been 3 years since r/place, and Reddit is dying more and more each day, with more and more bad publicity from the media, it's not nearly as unlikely for r/place to start again, as it was the last few years, as spez is known for starting r/place when things are looking bad for Reddit, on top of that it has been a while since r/place started.

As April 1st is tomorrow and if it does start up again, I thought we should draw some soyjaks on it, that's it.

tl;dr
r/place happening possibly
