It seems driving instructors don't teach you how to stay safe (unfined) on the road - and considering most of these speed checkers are put into place due to the incompetence of the older population on the road - I've had a recent revelation. The signs don't indicate what speed you should go, rather the speed you shouldnt go!
120? Im flying to 100km/h, maybe 105 if im feeling a bit perky
80km/h? Better drive at 60 km/h just to be safe, you never know what traps could be set up
50km/h? My car doesnt like to rest on 30, so lets rest at around 35km/h!
20km/h? Just let your engine idle. Easy peasy. Too risky to accelerate. You might go 1km/h over the speed limit and owe the police 70 goybucks which could have been used to buy a weeks of groceries! Now I really dont want that…
Been doing the for a couple months. Life is good. I dont feel stress anymore, and I can look at the view more often which also calms my nerves. As for mirrors, I pointed the one in my car to my face, so there's always someone smiling at me, and my side mirrors point to the lines on the ground.
Sure, I use more fuel driving like this, but I can afford it now!
