Signed in 19 August 1943, the Quebec Agreement was an agreement between the United States and the UK outlining terms for coordinated nuclear development (like nuclear energy or nuclear weapons). This also meant for using nuclear weapons, the plan to bomb Hiroshima had to be approved by the British in July 1945 (which as we know, it was). However in 1946, the Atomic Energy Act was signed in America, which ended technological-cooperation despite the agreement still being in place, which costed the UK billions. So in 1948 the agreement was suspended by a modus vivendi which allowed limited sharing of technological development between the United States, the UK and Canada.
