One of the most common calls to action to improve a brimmy ‘log is to create and bump gemmy soyquotes. However, with the way soyquoting has evolved (many modern soyquotes have brief narratives and several characters to deliver a joke) it’s a more difficult task to keep a thread alive. Back in the earlier days of the soysphere soyquotes were usually one-liners that were easy to quote and spread around (and these do still exist and turn into duels often). With more multifaceted soyquotes, keeping engagement is difficult since the joke is rather self contained. Sure, you can gigaquote/unquote a character but really there’s little to do in terms of engagement. If you have any ideas on how to promote threads with these more narrative driven soyquotes, I’m surely open. This is why bait/question/more tangentially soy related threads stay up - they’re very open to creating a discussion or at least garnering posts to incite more movement, regardless of their quality. It’s also why lots of OC is forgotten - the creator can’t find a meaningful way to have people talk about it without forcing it.

When I made the original Nophono gif I wasn’t expecting it to take off, but looking back it had all the right fixings to become popular - not only was it funny, it capitalized on a growing trend (AI gigachads) and had a general conversational use. When I made Clamstaples I was expecting even less that that would take off, but to my surprise I see it popping up now and again. I suppose it’s because it’s capitalizing off of the Nophono lore trend
