I don't even think horror should be to make one "feel uneasy". When you look into horror of the past, one important aspect is that it is only an aesthetic and the story can still display a full spectrum of human emotion. Love, humor, tragedy, all of these were normal to see in a "horror" story. The idea of "horror HAS TO BE SCARY" is a very modern idea.
