Why do people convert or create .webp files to share on imageboards?
Why not use the standard file formats like .png, .jpeg and .gif for that same purpose?
I hate having to convert the media I download from here.

Why would a web browser convert a file on the fly when saving it?
.gif/jpeg/png to .webp conversion on save would be moronic.

The 'cord desktop client is built on electron running a chrome instance so it would hint at chromium being the culprit.
I'm forced to use Chrome at my job and haven't observed such thoughbeit I don't use 'cord.
