There's more distance between certain clades of Homo Sapiens than between dogs and coyotes, for example. I don't think this necessitates conflict or some kind of "there can only be one" situation, it doesn't really work that way in nature.
But denial of it does lead us to try to put certain regional adaptations into areas where they are maladapted, which is doomed to lead to suffering eventually. Ignoring it won't actually keep the peace long-term I think
