If you take a white guy and a black guy who on average would be considered equally attractive, some girls will prefer to fuck the black guy, while others would prefer the white guy. Honestly this is a lot more rare but it was probably more common in colonial times for the reasons you said (conquering). Probably most of the time now when a guy fetishizes black women it's mostly for looks reasons (for example liking the look of dark skin and big asses). But when it comes to fetishizing black men it's more the abstract idea of being raping by an animal-like or violent man. Though I guess you could put caring about dick size as a form of caring about looks. Thoughbeit I'm sure there are girls who just prefer black guys for the look of the dark skin and their hair and it's not deeper than that for them.
