ITT we develop Nuvariant Theory
>
We already know what constitutes a soyjak (IAS rules), but what makes some nuvariants succeed and potentially go mainstream (such as 'dromejak) while others fail and are quickly forgotten? Put your thinking caps on and discuss in the reppies. If we find out what qualities make a nuvariant a big hit, then we could possibly increase the quality of nuvariants substantially and get less SNCA poopsons.

shouldnt be forced, comes naturally
should actually be a soyjak and mocking soyboys ('dromejak does exactly this)

I was wondering exactly this last week and I came to the conclusion that good variants have to be expressive to be good (and used, both as an insult as well as selfinserts). Most nuvariants look kind of dead, they might have an open mouth but it feels souless

Most nuvariants usually.
1.don't try to be good (these are the forced spamfodder)
2.are just made by nusois who don't follow the agreed upon rules.

Weird line sized, too much detail, AA, etc. After they pass all the hurdles of being usable, they then have to actually be used instead of an established 'jak that usually does the job better due to having many preexisting edits. Smugjak and syndromejak took off because they both covered being "smug" in different, unique manners.
