>>14665138Soot, the founder and original administrator of
soyjak.party (also known as the Sharty), stopped actively moderating and handed over ownership of the site in
July 2022. He sold it to
Yuri "Kuz" Kuznetsov for
$2,000 during an event referred to as the
"Great Purchase".
The primary reason was that Soot had become preoccupied with
real-life commitments, particularly
university studies, which left him with less time to manage the growing site. He had also become notably absent, leading to criticism from users about his lack of activity and the site's condition during his absences. In his farewell statements, Soot expressed disappointment over not being able to dedicate more time and seeing the site neglected under his reduced involvement.
This handover ended a period of internal conflict (the "Second Soyvil War" or "Kuz Crisis") between Soot loyalists and those supporting Kuz's takeover. Soot retained control of related projects like the Soyjak Wiki initially, but fully stepped away from administration. He has since remained largely disconnected from the community, though he has occasionally expressed regret over selling the site in later interactions.
