…and then… they tried to honor the "culture" - not making gems.
They linked me one of their threads one night, showed me how they distorted the 'jaks, how they were making them brown.
It was like the 'jakkers of old times, but lame caricatures of their own selves - reanimated corpses, reddit-induced cringe.
They… had taken my gems, the way of the 'jakker, as if it showed they were like me, of me…
…while every word in their posts spoke of graunder, flanderization - and ignorance of what those same jokes meant. They thought to show respect… defiled it.
Lost myself in trying to understand the reason they were doing it, when I remembered they had put no meaning in it. They had no history of what it meant.
They didn't even know what kway culture was, lee and 'lig… and it all came rushing back, the 'channers seethed like that…
It was like looking at the board I loved, reborn as faggots - stupid, unfunny, bowing to the nuadmin. Another history… gone, carried by me alone.
