the irc should not have select spaces for people who use the site in any "sub-community" kind of way, or really as a gathering grounds for anything. they should have 1 general channel and hidden channels (or one) for moderation to keep in touch. we shouldn't be able to make channels at all or have channels made for us. if that place continues to influence this site, give a few months and this place will either be overrun with hostile 'onsiters' who congregated in some crevasse of the irc or this place will be dead. it will happen. the shilling will turn from irc channels, to matrix servers, and eventually discord servers. it will transform slowly, so slow that the extremes become normalized. don't give in.
