Arch is acceptable if you can't be shitted to compile SNCA programs that don't exist on package managers on your own, AUR does that for you. It's also good if you NEED up-to-date packages.
If you absolutely MUST compile all your packages and know what you are doing, you can also choose Gentoo.
Non-systemd derivatives of popular distros like Devuan or Artix are pointless since systemd is pretty much ubiquitous and you can't avoid at least some parts of it in a modern Linux ecosystem.
If you are installing, customizing and configuring a Linux OS as a twisted hobby and won't actually use it after all that, you WILL go back to Windows.
