Perverts are hugely embarrassed of themselves no matter how much of an internet tough guy act they try to put on. Ironically, the ones that use imageboards are even more embarrassed than than the ones who don't, because they can hide behind a layer of anonymity and (usually) really horrible moderation so they can spread their garbage everywhere so they can normalize it so the might feel a little less bad about themselves.
