>>14558581duolingo wont do raisin,
I learned german in my school for 2 years, our first teacher was some mad foid from Germany and was very strict with our program, you'd write everything you've noted trice and she would get angry over the smallest spelling error you made, she'd also rant about how we sucked at German and how literal 7 year olds were better at learning than us (because they had 8 classes of German a week.)
She would make speaking and litening quizzes at the end of every class to see if we've learned or not, she would embarrass us if we failed so everyone would listen her with both their ears.
In a nutshell you both need to write, speak and learn but you need to revise very often, more than you'd have with duolingo trust me I've experienced both and the only thing ive learned from Duoraisinto was the word schwester (sister) gogogo which means class psychology matters as well whilst learning.
later we changed teachers and our new teacher didnt give a fuck about our class and I've immediately forgotten everything I've learned later on gogogo though
