last month i watch this documentary called "Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father". i found it through circles discussing disturbing films (usually horror/shock films). i dont want to give to much away about it, but i went into the film expecting something gratuitous and clinical, and i was both incredibly happy it wasn't but also emotionally crushed by the actual content. in its 90 minute run time i cried twice and nearly did another time; i am not usually a crier when watching thing, the last time i remember crying was almost a year before this. despite dragging me to the darkest corners of human depravity, it left me feeling hopeful and soulfully uplifted. the film is the antithesis of impersonal, and you can tell how much this film meant to the man making it, and the people who helped with its creation. if you are in the mood for getting emotional: do not do any research before hand, its free on youtube. go watch it. warning to you sensitve folx, there is violence against a caca, but its handled in the most clement way possible.

The way the night stalker got caught was kinda silly.

A 13-year-old boy had just returned from a trip. He stayed up until midnight and realized he had left his favorite pillow in the family car and snuck out to find it. He went outside into the garage and heard a person walking by. He bolted back home and glanced out the window, seeing a man pass by. As the little retard he was he wanted to get one last look, so he went outside and saw a man with an orange car, driving away. By now, his dad had woken up and called the police after hearing his story. The police came a total of 3 times to get more information, since a mile and a half away from their home there had been another murder.

Two days later, the police found a car that matched the description. After double-checking it with the boy and his family, they searched for any possible DNA and found a SINGLE fingerprint belonging to Richard Ramirez.

Later on in court, he winked at the boy.

In his letters to police, Rader asked whether his writings, if put on a floppy disk, could be traced. When investigators drove by Rader's home, a black Jeep Cherokee was parked outside.This was strong circumstantial evidence against Rader, but they needed more direct evidence to detain him.
