I remember reading this for an advanced English class. Incredibly dark and disturbing, but Nabokov smartly leaves out any graphic descriptions of molestation. I never watched the movie, but from what I see it's more of a dark satire than a tragedy (not in the Greek sense, the protagonist is definitely not portrayed as a hero).
